Production Planner


This key role reports to the Manufacturing Floor Manager, and is an integral member of the Supply Chain function.  This is an ideal role for a candidate who has specialised in Supply Chain, Food Science, Engineering, Logistics Management, Science or Business Administration. If you have an interest in FMCG or food science this would be the role for you.  This role is key to our strategic approach to long term planning, capacity planning, inventory control and customer relationship management.

The Production Planner will work closely with the manufacturing, sales, logistics teams and key suppliers and internal buying staff, to guarantee that customer demand is delivered in full and on time, ensuring strong accuracy and excellent communication skills at all times.

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Effectively managing the flow of production across varying lines in order to meet customer demand
  • Ensuring that long term production planning is consistent with operational efficiency and inventory stock levels
  • Providing rolling forecasts to key suppliers and ensuring excellent supply chain customer service
  • Ensuring timely availability of all raw materials and packaging required for production
  • Managing the introduction of new and seasonal products, including phasing out any discontinued stock
  • Striving towards lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies and processes

This is a critical position and a fantastic opportunity to for a graduate interested in Supply Chain career within a dedicated and driven production environment. Due to the complexity of this role it requires a person with customer focus, drive for results and numerical aptitude.

To be successful in your application, you will have: 

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Logistics Management/ Science
  • Process and detailed orientated approach to work
  • Strong listening ability and able to work on own initiative
  • Numerical agility, with sound experience in forecasting and reporting
  • Excellent  communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels with the ability to quickly build strong relationships both internal and external
  • Eye for detail, high level of accuracy with a systematic approach and strong reporting skills
  • Flexible and adaptable and self-motivated
