Production Planner

 

Based in Lower Hutt we are looking for an experienced Production Planner to join our team. We are part of the world’s largest floor covering manufacturer and continue to enjoy growth in our business. This role has come about due to an internal promotion and presents a wonderful opportunity for a skilled planner.

The purpose of this role is to develop production schedules and plans to ensure we deliver on time, to quality standards and cost requirements, meeting customer expectations.  This role requires a facilitative approach to find the best results for all stakeholders as well as the proactive oversight to anticipate issues, and the flexibility to respond and adapt plans as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide production planning services to satisfy customer demand, and to optimise production efficiencies
  • Prepare timely and accurate production plans for the manufacturing division departments
  • Effectively communicate production plans to the appropriate Business Unit Managers, production supervisors and business unit planners
  • Liaise with divisions to ensure that realistic production dates are communicated in a structured and timely manner and that supplied production promise dates are reflected in production plans
  • Monitor the flow of production in the manufacturing division to determine progress with production plans and recommend appropriate action should production plans not be complied with
  • Provide appropriate responses to disruptions in production plans, including recommendation of appropriate action to relevant personnel

Expected background and experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years planning / scheduling experience
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Highly computer literate with advanced Excel skills
  • Tertiary qualification or APICS CPIM
  • Knowledge of TOC principles desirable
