About the Company

This family owned New Zealand company has over 30 years in the construction industry. Building new residential homes as well as major home renovations, they have won numerous Master Builder awards.  With significant amounts of contract work ahead of them, they are looking to grow their team with a Procurement Manager to take ownership of the supplier and vendor relationships.  

The Opportunity 

This newly created role is responsible for managing procurement, agreements, and pricing. You will be developing purchasing and supply policies to improve pricing, delivery, quality and performance.  Although reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will have leadership skills and a fluid approach to change.  You will need to have negotiation skills to influence operation and financial teams both internally and externally.  

The Role 

This role will suit someone that is fluid in their approach and wants to make their mark in a company that is growing. You will have the ability to negotiate supply contracts, develop procedures and policies to optimise purchasing power, get reliability of supply, cost management, and take ownership of this new established role.  

Skills and Experience 

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Related qualification
  • Strong data Analysis abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • High level of commercial acumen
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong Negotiation and Communication skills
  • Self-managing, fluid approach to new challenges
  • Construction experience looked up on favourably
