The Role:
As a key member of the national operations management team and leading the team of approximately 250 staff, the Head of Operations South Island will lead, develop, grow, and manage the day-to-day management of company operation in the South Island. This senior management role covers all general facets of management through growth, people success, structure, safety and compliance of EnviroNZ’s facilities, sites, vehicles and people within the region.
Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, the role ensures consistency, stakeholder engagement and provides a high level of service delivery to their customers. You will skilfully manage commercial responsibilities with day-to-day operational management and take a forward-thinking approach for the South Island area.
This is a diverse role that includes:
· Leading people with vision and strategy, encouraging high performance and getting the best from people through trust and respect
· Achieving planned KPI’s including operating cost, profit, investment return, seeking efficiencies and cost controls, completing projects on time and within budget and growing/modifying the business in accordance with approved plans
· Manage the full P&L for the South Island, developing and managing budgets, and effectively managing company assets
· Managing quality and compliance for all operations
· Developing short, medium and long-term strategic objectives and performance indicators, implementing strategy and developing cultural and transformational change
· Building a team environment across the region
· Managing and maintaining key customer relationships in the region.
Skills and Experience:
Our client seeks:
· 10+ years’ operational experience within a commercial environment, and a track record of delivering results
· Significant experience in business growth initiatives
· Proven people leadership experience
· Demonstrated ability to manage employees at all levels and differing roles
· Demonstrated ability to manage large complex operational environments
· A track record of success in providing a high level of customer service delivery
· Skills in developing and maintaining customer and stakeholder relationships
· A strong team focus, with a collaborative mindset and effective communication skills
· Sound judgement in decision making
· Advanced and proven experience in a commercial role to identify primary business drivers, analyse the effect of changes and implement strategy.
